Transgender Community
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman
Creating safe space is at the core of all of the work that I do, with a particular focus on cultivating this space for the Trans* community. I believe that when we have a space in which to rest, in which we don't have to fight or guard against the micro-aggressions present in our daily world, profound healing happens. When we are able to bring all of ourselves into a space - and feel safe doing so - we begin to have a deeper and more compassionate relationship with Self. And through this cultivation of relationship with Self, we are able to see more clearly the depth of what we have to offer and what we bring to the world. And it all begins with safe space. Space for your nervous system to settle. Space for you to be witnessed, in all of your humanness. Sometimes we don't even know we need that space until we step into it for the first time and begin to get a sense of how good our systems are at holding it all together.
My work involves using Craniosacral Therapy and integrative bodywork to meet you where you are and support you in that place. That may be anything from supporting you in the midst of healing from surgery to adjusting to hormone use to the fundamental work of embodiment. It may also be working through chronic physical pain, and doing so in a safe space. Craniosacral therapy involves working deeply with the nervous system to help the body to heal and release chronic holding patterns.
